Tottenham Hotspur need not worry if they fail to find a suitable manager before the new season as Rob Allebury, who is a hairdresser by profession, is willing to replace Tim Sherwood at White Hart Lane.

Allebury owns a football themed hairdressing salon called ‘Turnstyles’ and has already applied for around 100 managerial positions so far and is hoping Spurs accept his application. The 46-year-old is convinced he can manage at the highest level after he led Crawley Town to many trophies in the iOS version of Football Manager and now wants to try his skills in the real world.

A number of clubs like Liverpool, Leeds United and Leicester City had previously rejected Allebury’s job application and the hairdresser hopes of managing Manchester United were dashed by Louis Van Gaal.

“Many clubs don’t bother even sending a reply anymore,’ a local newspaper quoted Allebury as saying.

“Wolves even sent me a grumpy letter suggesting I shouldn’t waste their time. It’s all a bit of fun really.”

Allebury is only available to manage on Wednesday, his day off, which could be why so many clubs have rejected him.

When asked what he could do for Tottenham the hairdresser replied: ‘Well, the team will have 11 good haircuts to start with … and we’ll go from there.’
