Popular reality competition Hair is back on our screens.

This time the show has graduated from BBC3 to BBC2 and the presenter is comedian Katherine Ryan. It features two expert judges; hairdresser to the royals, Denise McAdam and celebrity stylist Alain Pinchon.

Ten hair enthusiasts compete for the title of Britain’s best amateur hair stylist by completing various challenges. In Week One, for example, the so-called freestyle challenge, they were required to create a hairstyle reflecting some aspect of architecture. Meanwhile Katherine Ryan has revealed to the BBC some of her hairstyle highlights and disasters. “I had white hair when I was 19”, says Katherine, but bleaching became almost an addiction. “It was over-processed and genuinely crispy, but I thought I looked amazing.”

When cheekily asked who she would like to give a bad haircut to, Katherine responded “Donald Trump, because it would be a massive improvement”, which many people would find hard to argue with! Katherine’s signature hairstyle would feature the blue tips that so many young girls currently have. “I'd fill really glamorous loos with toilet cleaner and dip the girls' heads in just enough to get the tips wet. I'd call it 'the hangover'.” And if she had a salon it would be called ‘Hair of the Dog.’
